You asked for it, you got it!

After rigorous training, brainstorming sessions, and sleepless nights, we are happy to announce that we are finally launching the official GadgetMatch Online Store where you can get all the GadgetMatch-branded merchandise that we’ve been sporting the last few months.

Producing merchandise alongside content is not easy, and our factory elves are still on vacation, so we are launching the store with only one product for now.

Introducing: GadgetNotch

2018 is a tremendous year for innovation. Ever since Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we’ve seen smartphone after smartphone with the greatest feature ever invented: the notch.

GadgetNotch is handcrafted with love using artisanal upcycled vegan material sourced from Middle Earth

Here at GadgetMatch what we care about most is YOU, the consumer. So we thought, why don’t we give the world — the universe rather — the experience of a brand-new 2018 smartphone?

For an introductory price of US$ 9, you can make your phone great again. With a few clicks, you’ll be getting your very own GadgetNotch right at your doorstep.

GadgetNotch is handcrafted with love by independent artists around the world using artisanal upcycled vegan material sourced from Middle Earth. It will cling to your phone without leaving a permanent trace, the same way you clung to your ex before finally moving on. It will come in black and white so it’s compatible with every smartphone ever invented.

Shipping is also free for orders above US$ 90, so do your Christmas shopping early and get one or two for your friends and family.

So, is this your GadgetNotch? It’s way too early to tell; we will be waiting for YOUR full review.

Our R&D team is also working hard on a version that’s compatible with feature phones like the Nokia 3310. We will let you know as soon as we are ready to roll out.

So you don’t miss any of that, subscribe to our YouTube Channel, like our Facebook page, follow @GadgetMatch on social media, and make GadgetMatch.com your daily habit.

Until the next great idea. Thanks for dropping by!

… and Happy April Fool’s Day! If you had a good laugh, share this article with your friends without spoilers so you can spread the LOLs!

‘Dewing Things Alone’ is the wallpaper for rainy season

Sometimes, you just gotta love the rain

Published

Changing your wallpapers to suit the weather is perfectly valid behavior. If you’re in the mood to switch your wallpaper this rainy season, here’s one for you.

Angelikah Gustilo, the Philippine-based artist behind our well-loved Pride wallpapers, came up with yet another wallpaper to match your emotions.

Entitled “Dewing Things Alone”, this set of wallpapers evokes a feeling of comfort and being at home. It captures that serenity and peace you enjoy as the rain pours, living in the comfort of yourself and connecting on a mundane yet meaningful level.

To Gustilo, rainy days have always been a source of comfort as an only child. The rainy season gave her books which transported her to places, and hot drinks that made her warm and giddy — enough to ponder and look out of the windows and imagine what awaits when the storm is over.

These wallpapers are her own take on loving the rainy season, and she hopes there are people who can relate to her love for the rain.

GadgetMatch’s wallpaper ‘Fluid’ is a coming out story

GadgetMatch’s wallpaper for Pride Month embraces being queer

Published

on

Happy Pride Month from the GadgetMatch team!

Continuing our celebration with the LGBTQ+ community, we have one more wallpaper to share.

Introducing Fluid, the artwork explores the concept of one’s sexuality — forever changing, forever molding, and forever discovering. The rainbow pattern is speckled with grain, suggesting noise as the obstacles in the journey to self-love and self-discovery.

On another note, the words “Let Me Be Perfectly Queer” are a nod to allowing yourself to embrace your authentic self without reservations. It’s choosing to let go of painful moments — and memories — that forced you to stay silent.

Fluid reminds us to allow ourselves to grow in the love we feel, even if it’s scary and different. The artwork is designed by Philippine-based artist, Angelikah Gustilo, who is also behind No Different, the wallpaper we released previously.

“In the last semester of my third year in University, I took a class by Alfred Marasigan and Hidde van der Wall titled Art of the Queer. The course allowed me to be less afraid of my own self-exploration journey, and I’m grateful to be able to showcase these simple pieces that are the gems of wisdom I took away from the class,” said Gustilo.

GadgetMatch’s wallpaper ‘No Different’ celebrates love and queer people

It’s all about embracing individuality

Happy Pride Month from the GadgetMatch team!

As part of celebrating love, freedom, and the LGBTQ+ community, we’ve asked an artist to create an artwork that depicts Pride.

Angelikah Gustilo, an artist based in the Philippines, came up with No Different. To Gustilo, No Different presents queer people as people — capable of loving despite the difference in orientation.

Through geometric shapes, Gustilo presented that being queer isn’t dictated by a certain look, or a certain manner you carry yourself. It’s being different; deviating from what the majority of society thinks is normal. The larger rectangle represents the space where everyone exists, regardless of their orientation.
